The PD752D 3/4-Horsepower
Garage Access System
At a Glance:
  • Whisper-quiet, smooth operation
  • "Security+" rolling-code technology
  • PosiLock theft protection
  • Industrial strength power for super-heavy doors
  • Two remote controls and multi-function wall-mount panel

Multi-function control panel
lets you turn on the lights or
open/lock garage door from inside.

Enclosed gear case provides continuous lubrication and protection for long life.

Safety sensors guard against accidents
by projecting an invisible light
across garage-door opening.

Included in-vehicle remote controls
are HomeLink compatible.
Smooth Opening and Closing of Even the Heaviest Doors
Many garage openers simply cannot accommodate large, heavy, or antique garage doors. In the past, owners of older homes had to manually lift and open their doors themselves or had to park elsewhere to avoid the hassle.

Reliable, Whisper-Quiet Operation
Winner of the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, the PD752D garage-door opener is the perfect solution for hard-to-manage doors. Backed by a lifetime warranty, the finely-tuned, yet ruggedly designed 3/4-horsepower motor with industrial strength chain provides the synergy needed to open heavy garage doors quickly and quietly.

In fact, thanks to its exclusive Motor Vibration Isolation System (MVIS), the PD752D is whisper quiet--no clanking, crunching, or squeaking mechanical noises as the door opens and closes.

Additionally, an enclosed gear case provides continuous lubrication and protection for longer life and smoother operation.

Fast, Easy Installation in Just 60 Seconds
Quick and easy to install, this system arrives with five railing sections that assemble into one long piece. Clear, easy-to-read instructions guide you through the process step by step--in just one minute you'll have a completely assembled unit.

For added convenience, the PD752D has a light that delivers 200 watts and has an adjustable time delay so you can enjoy illumination when you need it.

Advanced Safety and Security Features Protect Against Accidents and Theft
The PD752D is equipped with safety features that protect users from accidental closings, as well as from break-ins and theft. First and foremost, auto force-sensing technology constantly monitors the garage door area and adjusts forces according to temperature fluctuations, floor height, and door track movement.

Additionally, the included protector system features safety sensors with Rapid-Snap brackets that project an invisible light beam across the door opening and automatically reverse the door if anything interrupts the beam while the door is descending. For added peace of mind, sensing technology will stop the door from closing if contact is made with a person or object and opener lights will turn on automatically if the infrared beam is broken.

To guard against someone discovering your secret code, the PD752D's Security+ anti-burglary protection uses rolling technology and sends a new code every time you use your remote control. For an additional layer of protection, PosiLock theft protection ensures that once the door is closed, it stays locked. An added bonus, a manual release handle can be used in case of power failure.

What's in the Box
Motor unit with light lenses; wall-mount door control; chain and cable in dispensing carton; Protector System (sending eye, receiving eye, two-conductor white and white/black bell wire attached); all required mounting brackets; rails; hardware; two three-button remote controls with batteries; and safety labels and literature.

The Evolution of Garage Door Sizes

!9# The Evolution of Garage Door Sizes

The first garage doors were indeed little more than barn doors, as in the distant past, before the introduction of today's automobile, the method of transport used by all was indeed that of the horse and carriage. Therefore, in order to house your horse and its carriage you needed a large barn with huge barn doors. The size of these doors was not regulated and they were made by hand out of timber.

When the horse and carriage turned into the horseless carriage that we call today the car, the garage door became a more standardized piece of equipment to fit onto a single or double garage that would house one or two cars. There are many different widths and heights for your garage door today, but there are many standard sizes to choose from ranging from a single door to an extra large double door that can house comfortably two off road vehicles.

If we look at countries that are highly populated such as Japan, we will see something quite remarkable. The average size of a garage door in Japan is indeed a lot less than in the western world, and in order to cope with this, Japanese cars are slimmer and the garages are small. When you park your car in a Japanese garage it is common for all the passengers to have to exit the car before you enter. Japanese cars even have sliding doors which of course help with a shortage of space and allow you to exit your car even in very small spaces indeed.

When you order your new garage door these days, you also have a great deal of choice for the material you use. New materials such as steel and aluminum require a lot less maintenance than traditional wood doors and of course are a lot cheaper too. You can however choose from some excellent reinforced and insulate materials for your door that will even save you money on your winter fuel bills. The more you invest in your new garage door, the more return you will get, the door really having developed a great deal since the horse and carriage. Whichever your choice of door, you should find nowadays that your door will be of a standard size. If you do however have an old fashioned door opening, you could choose a custom made composite door that would be an excellent and economical choice for your needs.

What is the Difference Between Belt, Screw, and Chain Drive Garage Door Openers

!9# What is the Difference Between Belt, Screw, and Chain Drive Garage Door Openers

[if ]

A garage door seems like it would be a simple thing. After all, it's just a door that allows you easy access into your garage. It is designed to stop the elements from coming into your garage and to allow you to get into and out of your garage easily. Garage doors, however, when not operated by a remote controlled device, were slightly annoying to deal with because to operate them, you had to get out of your warm, comfortable vehicle and physically open the door. Then garage door openers were created. These are a mechanized device that allows you to be able to simply push a button and your door will open automatically for you. While most garage door openers look the same to the average person, they actually aren't. There are a few different types of garage door openers, but the most popular are belt driven, chain driven, and screw driven. Here we'll discuss the difference between the three kinds.

Screw driven
A screw-driven garage door opener works by using a type of screw to open the door. What does this mean? Whenever you operate the motor, a screw will turn, which will then, in turn, pull up the door. Many people believe that screw driven systems are better because you have no belt to have to worry about maintaining. Screw driven systems are usually self lubricating and are considered a mid grade door opener solution. It is quieter than a chain drive but not as good as a belt drive. There are also less moving parts in a screw drive.

Belt driven
A Belt drive system is the top of the line system for any residential garage door opener system. A belt driven opener is similar to a chain driven opener. Once again, when you trigger the motor, the door opens, but this time it opens thanks to a belt system that pulls the door up. Often, people who have a garage door that is underneath a house choose to have a belt driven motor as it is much quieter than its cousin, the chain driven motor. Belt drives are the quietest solution for any door opener. They will typically be the most expensive opener.

Chain driven
A chain driven motor works exactly in the same way as a belt driven motor does, only it utilizes chain to be able to get the garage door up and down again. A chain driven opener can be louder than a belt driven or screw driven one, which can be a problem for people who need quieter doors, but because it is chain, it can often handle more abuse than a belt driven motor can. Chain drives are considered entry level openers and are the most noisy but are the cheapest.

When you're selecting a new garage door opener, which one do you select? It all depends on your needs. If you're looking for quiet, go with the screw driven door opener. If you're looking for quiet without a high price tag, the belt driven door opener is what you want. And if you're looking to save a little money and don't care about the noise, the screw driven door opener is exactly what you need. There is a garage door opener for everyone.
